So entrepreneur, have you ever attended (either) an online webinar and or offline free introductory workshop/sales pitch, and you simply couldn’t wait for the presenter(s) to cut to the chase?
If you’re wondering “what’ if anything that (remotely) has to do with consistently implementing five battlefield tested email marketing best practices?
Well, believe it or not, a whole lot. Mainly this; is there anything worse than an email that simply won’t cut to the chase! If you don’t exactly consider yourself the overly creative type!
Then you’ll absolutely love the following five proven (cut to the chase), email marketing best practices, made especially for the non creative types.
Five Incredibly Simple Email Marketing Best Practices!
(You’d Be Wise To Stop Ignoring!)
The reason “why” any non creative type should pay extremely close attention here, is because your emails, offline sales letters, banner or display and or business cards etc.
They don’t have to be creative or cutesy in order to be effective. They just need to (cut to the chase) and convey how you help solve or address your target audiences-problems and or issues. (Like maybe your email(s) finally answers their burning question about increasing their online profits!)
The following five proven email marketing best practices, help you do just that.
1.) Best proven email marketing practice # one: Entrepreneur, (especially) you non creative types! Remember, when you’re initially trying to build your list on or offline, but especially online, don’t ask your potential opt in for more information than you initially need! (Because you’ll simply turn a majority of them off! And waste a huge potential list building opportunity)
In fact, if all you need initially need to get the ball rolling is their (first) name and their primary email address. Limit it to just that! Test bribing them for their phone number, after they’ve actually joined your list!
Maybe throw in a free 15-30 minute “no holds barred consultation valued at X”, (and or popular recorded webibar/tele-seminar in exchange for their phone number. Or a free recording of one of your (or) some other marketers, most popular recordings, tele-seminars and or webinar recordings etc.
2.) Best proven email marketing practice # two: Always, always emphasize the fact that you respect and will never ever violate (in any way) your subscribers privacy! For obvious reasons, that “subject” has become far more relevant than ever!
3.) Best proven email marketing practice # three: While this next main point may seem like (good old) common sense to you! Rest assured, it’s not! Make sure “whatever” your freebie lead generating giveaway is, that’s it’s (somehow) relevant to the overall main theme of your site and or WordPress blog!
If your site or WordPress blog is about “organic gardening”, then your free lead generating giveaway shouldn’t be about “how to” make money on ebay!
4.) Best proven email marketing practice # four: Make sure you always have some type of inline (embedded) opt in sign up form on your website/blogs sidebar on (if nowhere else), your home (index) page.
This way, even if your visitor (especially) your first time visitor closes out one of your pop up, or pop over opt in forms, they still have the opportunity to join your list.
5.) Best proven email marketing practice # five: Always make sure you inexpensively A/B split test the various types of opt in forms, which are offered by your paid email service provider.
Your basic options should include (but) may not be limited to the following four choices;
A.) An inline form: This type of opt in form is actually embedded within your webpages, this way you always have a way of building your all important opt in email list.
B.) A pop over opt in form. This email option appears (primarily) from either side. It sort of slides in, seconds after you initially land on a site. And gives your visitor the option of closing it.
C.) The light box (pop over) opt in form option. This one works basically the same as the aforementioned, except it darkens the rest of your page, and sort of compels your visitor to focus on it more. But your visitor has the same option of closing it as well.
D.) A pop up opt in sign up form option. This option is actually activated by a separate piece of software, and it starts (typically) a few seconds after a visitor lands on your site. The main problem with it is, newer software has been designed specifically for blocking it!
Whichever marketing option you ultimately decide on, be sure you inexpensively A/B split test their overall effectiveness. Adhere to these five battlefield tested email marketing best practices, and you’re well on your way to out promoting your major competitors! Don’t you agree?
