So Entrepreneur Are You Ultimately An Asset Manager Or Branding Expert?

So “how” active are you in social media? No, the question is not, are you actively socializing on the various social media platforms, especially good old (notoriously) time consuming Facebook! The real question is, are you becoming an asset manager  or are you merely spending your time merely building your brand, via social media!Or neither!

Believe it or not, there is a huge difference between these two extremely different activities! Case in point; some of your small business owner peers, who while claiming to be extremely pressed for time, still manage to spend upwards of ten to twelve hours per week, purely socializing on Facebook.

So What’s It Going To Be Asset Manager Or Branding Expert!

Ladies & gentlemen, please don’t ever forget that all of those so called social media platforms are not yours! And at any time, they might temporarily or permanently have your account shut down!

Which means (potentially) all of your 47,234 twitter followers (or X) amount of followers and your X number of Facebook fan page followers etc. All gone! Think it can’t or won’t happen! Think again! In fact, ask any of the otherwise savvy small business owners and or service providers, that the exact same thing has happened to! So if you are busily posting various lifestyle pictures and or videos of (family) or company picnics or other company events etc.

You’re basically doing some rather fairly interesting or entertaining mild form of image branding. If on the other hand, you’re consistently posting fresh, original -problem solving- how to content via your state of the art WordPress blog, and also consistently guest blogging on other relevant-yet non competing blogs.

And also busily strategically using the various social media platforms such as twitter & Facebook etc; to get your content all over the net! That my friend is an effective form of “content marketing!”

And it’s (potentially) your “how to” problem solving content, that other marketers can and will socially bookmark as well. In which case, now you’re not image branding! Now my friend, you’re building a bankable asset.

So you decide entrepreneur, which do you prefer to be? A  savvy asset manager or time consuming image builder? The choice is truly yours, don’t you agree?
